ZALLOCATE.V2 V03 14FEB89
DESCRIPTION
This program allows a way to ZALLOCATE memory in a different
part of the memory than VAL-II does. This program attempts to
get space at the end of the physical memory area, instead of
somewhere in the middle. Because of this, there is a better
chance of getting this space after programs have been loaded
into memory, than when using the VAL-II ZALLOCATE command at
this point.
PREPARATION
Load the ZALLOCATE.V2 file into memory.
PROGRAM EXECUTION
After executing the ZALLOCATE program, a check will be made
to see if this area is available or not. If the area is not
available, then the program will display a message and ABORT.
The number of words to be allocated must be entered next. If
there is not enough space to allocate this many words, then
the program will be ABORT'd.
The program then changes the internal VAL-II boundary tags so
that this area is now available for use.
NOTES
This program will work on either VAL-II 1.4 software versions
or VAL-II 2.0 versions.
MESSAGES
*** ZALLOCATE area already in use ***
This message will get displayed immediately after the program
has been executed if the area at the highest portion of the
user memory is already being used.
*** Not enough memory available ***
This message will get displayed after the amount of words are
entered. If there is not enough room for the specified number
of words, then this error occurs.
