RECALL.LINE V01 RP AUTOMATION INC. 11JAN89

DESCRIPTION

The programs contained in this file are used to enable a new

feature whereby the last lines that have been typed into the

system can be recalled back onto the CRT screen, and re-entered

again as the same or different commands. When this feature is

enabled, typing <CONTROL>-B will cause the previously typed

line to appear on the screen.

PREPARATION

Load the RECALL.LINE file into memory from the diskette.

PROGRAM EXECUTION

Executing the program RECALL.LINE will modify the VAL-II system

so that every time a <CONTROL>-B is seen from the keyboard, the

last line that was typed will automatically get re-entered as

if it had been re-typed on the keyboard. This combination of

keys is accomplished by holding down the <CONTROL> key, while

at the same time, typing the 'B' key. Subsequent <CONTROL>-B

keypresses will result in lines that were previously typed. At

some point, the "save buffer" will wrap around, however, and

the data will start to repeat.

After the program is started, memory is searched for specific

data that will be changed so that this feature can be installed

into the system. If this exact data is not found, then this

is an error condition. An error message will be displayed, and

the program will be ABORT'd.

NOTES

Once this feature is installed in the system, the only way to

eliminate it is to re-load the VAL-II system.

MESSAGES

*** Correct data not found in system ***

If the data that needs to be altered is not found in the VAL-II

system, then this error message gets displayed.

A <CONTROL>-B keypress will now RECALL the last typed line

When the program is completed, then this message gets displayed

on the CRT screen.
